Have you ever thought about what you'd tell your younger self if you could travel back in time? I know I'm not the only one who's thought of this. But, in reality, we live and we learn, and that's part of being human.
As I've grown older, I've learned many tricks that have helped my skin tremendously. I honestly wish that these experiences would've magically appeared in a jar full of notes for me to learn. And so, I want to share them with you. Hopefully these tips can help you in one way or another.
1. There Is a Fountain of Youth
I've grown to like water, and although I don't drink as much as I should, there are many benefits behind H2O. For example, it hydrates the skin, prevents wrinkles and flushes impurities and toxins from your body.
Little by little I've been incrementing my daily intake, and sooner than later the goal is to drink eight glasses a day. Who would've known that such a pure liquid could be a key to unlock youthful, radiant skin.
2. Keep Loving Sleep
Sleeping at night is not the same as napping during the day. In fact, not getting enough rest can affect your mood, and skin (yikes!). Michael Breus, PhD, a board certified surgeon, told Web MD, that getting less than six hours of sleep can have an effect on how you look. "Sleep deprivation causes a decrease in blood flow to the skin surrounding your face... Skin becomes dull and you don't get those rosy cheeks anymore," said Breus.
No matter how busy I am, or how tight my schedule is, I always make my eight hours count—I recommend for you to do the same. It's had a tremendous positive effect both superficially as well as health wise.

3. Don't Skip This Important Step
I always heard that making your body accustomed to a routine required several weeks of consistency. Since I was very young, I learned that washing my face at night and packing on potent creams would help me achieve healthier skin.
It doesn't matter how tired I am, every night I make time to wash and prep my skin. This tip is probably one of the most important ones that I recommend. It really does make a difference that you'll notice the morning after.
Sadly, we can't turn back time, but what we can do is improve our lives by taking new steps towards a healthier present. Take care and love yourself more, you're worth it!
